BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Located on 100 acres in the scenic Foothills of the Berkshires, Camp Schodack offers every activity and opportunity you can imagine. Owned and operated by the Krouner family since its founding in 1957, Schodack provides a spirited and welcoming environment for boys and girls ages 7-15. Schodack promotes a philosophy focused on building confidence and developing lifelong friendships. Campers love the “Warmth Tradition and Spirit” of a summer at Schodack!

CAMP LOCATION: Located just 2.5 hours from Manhattan and Boston, our location in the foothills of the Berkshires provides a beautiful and private setting on our 100-acres. We take full advantage of our prime location by engaging in all the athletic, nature and cultural offerings that Western Massachusetts and Upstate New York have to offer.
CAMP FACILITIES: Schodack is nestled in a picturesque wooded valley in the foothills of the Berkshires, our beautiful campus of flat, grassy playing fields is surrounded by acres of our own stunning, private forest. Our cabins are clean, airy and spacious buildings with private toilets and showers in each cabin. We have two heated swimming pools, a lake for boating, dining hall, Rec Hall, Playhouse, Ropes course, amphitheater, Culinary Arts studio, fitness center, ball fields and courts and a hilltop horse corral.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Krouner family has been on this beautiful 100-acre site since 1909 when Sam and Lena Krouner operated a dairy farm, which later became Krouners Hotel. Their son, Lou, and his wife, Clara, converted the hotel into Camp Schodack in 1957; and their son, Paul, and his wife, Linda, became owner/directors in 1970. In 2012, after a lifetime of summers at Schodack, their son Matt became a full-time owner/director…four generations of continuous and dedicated family leadership!
Every camper becomes part of our Schodack family! Our staff actively creates a family-like atmosphere where everyone fits in, everyone is included, and each camper is surrounded by opportunities to excel – in building friendships, exploring new adventures, improving in favorite activities and taking on new challenges. We believe that kindness and caring are the keys to life-long friendships and our commitment to these values is what makes Schodack the camp that everyone wants to return to summer after summer!
